About us
WSC-SD is reporting live from the United Nations Climate Conference in Copenhagen, COP15.
WSC-SD is a multi-disciplinary network of motivated students with the ability to think and act both locally and globally, and who share the vision to make a difference. Our purpose is to be a leading international student organization that carries out meaningful projects which result in positive and enduring changes that improve lives and communities around the world. WSC-SD stands for World Student Community for Sustainable Development.

What is the role of students in developing solutions to the issues of climate change and international politics?
Climate change represents a rare issue that cannot be resolved by the actions of one nation, nor is it possible for one nation to act unilaterally to address. Accordingly, climate change will test the limits of political paradigms and require new approaches to problem solving.
Students of today will play a crucial role in meeting these needs. We represent valuable resources that will turn into the future leaders of the world. Thus, it is absolutely critical that we become involved as early as possible in the policies that nations are establishing today to be put into action tomorrow, as we will be the ones most affected by the choices of today.
At COP15 we are going to share our collective accomplishments across the communities we represent, study the negotiations that occur between nations, and learn how to use our knowledge and experience to engage students worldwide and inspire them to take action. We hope that by blogging and recording the experiences we are having we will be able to give you an up-close perspective of what nations are or are not doing to address climate change and role that youths are playing in this movement. Thanks for joining us!
